The
Gazebo is the first novel of a trilogy by Steven Fortney titled A Passing
of Shadows. The setting is Dunkirk, a little town south of Madison, Wisconsin.
The time is the 1980s.
A gazebo built in the yard between houses of two of the major characters is
a gathering place for a group of eccentric liberals in scandalous conflict with
a Baptist minister and others threatened by their behavior.
Steven Fortney is the author two previous novels, Heg and The Thomas Jesus, both published under the Waubesa Press imprint.
