Dennis Boyer explores Wisconsin’s Northwoods in his third book of Wisconsin ghost tales, folk legends and supernatural happenings. From the ghosts of Madeline Island to the phantom pulp truck of Herbster and the Old One of Red Cliff, Boyer shines a literary light on these shadowy spirits of the dark woods. In the second edition of this classic book, first published in 1998, he has updated many of the tales told to him by Native American storytellers and descendants of pioneers. Dennis Boyer also is the author of Once Upon a Hex, Snow on the Rails, Gone Missing and several other books about ghosts and supernatural legends. A retired employee of a labor union that represents public employees, Boyer lives on a farm near Dodgeville, Wisconsin. |
